This is part 24 of the series of article on SSIS. In this article we are going to learn how to delete Remote File using FTP Task in SSIS Package.

Introduction

In this article we are going to see on how to use a FTP task in SSIS package to delete a remote file using FTP Task in SSIS packaging.

Steps:

Follow steps 1 to 3 on my first article to open the BIDS project and select the right project to work on integration services project. Once the project is created, we will see on how to use FTP task container. Drag and drop the FTP task as shown in the below screen

Now double click on the task to open the property window and set the properties as shown in the below screen.

The above image is for setting the FTP Connection, end user need to provide the correct connection settings and click on the Test Connection to confirm if the connection is valid.

Now in the file transfer tab we need to set the property since in our example we are going to delete some file in the remote server we need to set as below. Here input variable is used to get the path where we need to delete the files remotely.

Here once you have given valid credentials by running directly the package will do the necessary steps of deleting the files in the remote server using the FTP Task.
