Couple of weeks before Microsoft announced the release of the Windows 8 Release to Manufacturing build which is now available for download to the developers who have the MSDN and Technet subscription. For the general public Microsoft offers a 90 days free subscription trial which an be downloaded from the Windows Dev Center download page.
With this release download we also get the Visual Studio 2012 Express, Windows 8 design assets, code samples, and all the related tools and SDK’s you need to build apps which gives the developers a one stop point of contact for all their needs to develop apps on Windows 8. [more]
What is the system Requirement?
- Processor: 1 gigahertz (GHz) or faster
- RAM: 1 gigabyte (GB) (32-bit) or 2 GB (64-bit)
- Hard disk space: 20 GB
- Graphics card: Microsoft DirectX 9 graphics device with WDDM driver
If we are going to download and install the evaluation version, Microsoft suggests to install on to a separate Virtual Machine as after the original release expected on October we need to reinstall from the scratch.

The evaluation OS is a 90-day trial of Windows 8 Enterprise edition. Both 32-bit and 64-bit versions are available as ISO images. In order to use this evaluation, you must register and the product must be activated online with Microsoft-hosted activation and validation services. Microsoft does not provide technical support for this software.
