Microsoft recently released WebMatrix version 3 couple of days before with a much exciting features and add-ons. For the beginners Microsoft WebMatrix is a free, lightweight, cloud-connected web development tool. WebMatrix first version was released in late 2010 making the developer life easy to develop and manage the web application experience for ASP.Net, PHP and Node.js. WebMatrix 3 also focuses more on making easy for the Windows Azure websites deployments and remote editing in the cloud and to seamlessly access the remote and local sites for offline testing. Also with this release we have an integrated support to deploy the application to collaborate with Git, TFS source controls. So lets start downloading to our local machine and see an overview of the new WebMatrix 3. [more]

Once downloaded we can see the Web Platform installer will be triggered and will get the information of the WebMatrix 3 version as shown in the screen below.
Click on Install and we can see the installation starts, the total download size is close to 14MB and it requires few of the supporting installation to get triggered which will be automatically taken care by the Web Platform installer as shown in the screen below.
Click on I Accept and we can see the installation starts and take some time to download and install the necessary items, if any older version of the WebMatrix is found available it will automatically uninstall and install the latest version of the application that is downloaded using the Web Platform.
Once the installation is completed we can see the list of installed components listed in the same windows. Click on Finish to complete the installation and now the WebMatrix will be ready to use. Open WebMatrix and we can see the very first option to connect to you Microsoft account (basically the Windows Azure), we can skip this and do it at the later stage as well as shown in the screen below.
Now your WebMatrix is ready to use, we can use it as a local server and also a deployment environment to start testing the different versions of the application.
