Introduction:
In this article we are going to see how to create new View using the Management portal in SQL Azure.
Overview:
Creating view in traditional SQL Server database locally is a simple task, similarly creating view in SQL Azure is easy and simple. SQL Azure provides the new interface to create the Views for the tables created on the SQL Azure database.

Steps:
Log in to the Azure portal using the below link. You can see the screen look similar to below

Login to the portal using your Microsoft Windows Live credentials with Azure credentials to the management portal and you will see the screen as shown in the screen below
Now we can see the Database Menu at the bottom left, Click on that will go to the Database Subscription window as shown in the screen below
Clicking on the subscription name will provide the complete details of the server created and the new database created as shown in the screen below
Now we have a database created(LearnAzure) with a Max size of 1GB and ready to use it for the application based on the requirement. To create a new View click on Manage at the top menu tool bar as shown in the screen below

Now click on the New View Menu at the top menu to create a view for the table Empdetails which we created in our earlier articles(Check my articles to see on how to create table using the link). Now your screen will look like below
Once we created the body of the view as per the requirement, we can save the view and use it by querying in the query analyzer. After clicking on save button navigate to New query windows and write a select statement to query the view as shown in the screen below
We can create as many views as per the requirement and use it across the database.
